Then, you can use a Scotch-Brite pad to hone the cylinder walls in a crisscross pattern. Wear rubber gloves when you use oven cleaner and flush the cylinder afterwards with soapy water.
Web15 Mar 2024 · Any oil will leave baked on residues in the cross hatch, and at least for a two-stroke cylinder, hones are best left to people that know how to use them properly, it's too easy to damage the plating around the ports. I use a Scotch Brite pad coated with ATF. I scrub it, then clean with soapy water, and dry with a white paper towel.
